KING OF PRUSSIA, PA, August 1, 2008 – Kay Lokoff, founder of the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation, today announced the appointment of Suzanne duPont Postlewait of West Chester, to interim president of the board of directors.  The appointment is effective August 1, 2008.  Ms. duPont Postlewait will serve out the remaining nine months of Barbara McCabe’s term.  Ms. McCabe is stepping down to move with her family to North Carolina.

Stated Kay Lokoff, “The Foundation will benefit greatly from the level of experience Suzanne brings from her years as a child care teacher and administrator.  She has been a member of our board for many years.  We are also grateful to Barbara McCabe for her years of devotion to the Foundation.  She has been a true champion of high-quality child care and a friend to the Foundation.  She has served in many capacities on our board of directors: secretary, vice president and president.  She gave willingly of her time, expertise in corporate human resources, networking skills and knowledge. The professionalism she brought to our board and committee meetings will be missed.”

Stated Barbara McCabe, “It is with very mixed emotions that I am stepping down as president of the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation. I have enjoyed my association with the Foundation over the last 20 years and believe it has so much value not only locally but nationally. I plan to keep involved even from a distance.”

Continued McCabe, “The organization is sound financially and physically with an excellent staff and pro-active executive committee. Suzanne’s knowledge, wisdom, and expertise in the early childhood education field will lead TLLCCF in the right direction.”

Ms. duPont Postlewait was a child life therapist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She was an early education teacher and director for the Goddard Schools.  Ms. duPont Postlewait held the position of vice president of programming and quality assurance for the Goddard Schools.  She currently is a vice president on the board of directors for Child, Inc in Wilmington, DE.

For 20 years TLLCCF has been making America better by improving early care and education. The  Foundation has dedicated its resources to improving the quality of child care for all children; supporting and elevating the status of child care teachers and providers; raising awareness of the need for affordable, quality child care; and, partnering with business and government in making child care a priority.  TLLCCF is a nonprofit, nonsectarian 501(c)(3) organization established in 1987 in memory of Terri Lynne Lokoff, a devoted child care teacher.
