THE TERRI LYNNE LOKOFF CHILD CARE FOUNDATION
Executive Director Throws Out First Pitch at Phillies Game
King of Prussia, PA, April 12, 2008 - The Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation Executive Director Allan Miller was asked by the Philadelphia Phillies to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Saturday, April 12, 2008 game. The game was for Pennsylvania's Promise for Children Awareness Day.
The sold out game had many supporters, board members, and friends of the Foundation come out for a fun evening. Teri Aldrich of Salina, KS and this year's Helene Marks Award as the National Child Care Teacher of the Year recipient and her family came to show their support for the event and root for the Cubs. It was a great night for child care and for the Phillies, as they beat the Chicago Cubs in a near shut out game, 6 to 1.
PA's Promise for Children Awareness Day was sponsored by Philadelphia Alliance for Better Child Care, Childhood Education Coalition Chester County, Montgomery Child Care Consortium, Quality Child Care Coalition of Bucks County, YMCA and the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation.
For 20 years TLLCCF has been making America better by improving early care and education. The Foundation has dedicated its resources to improving the quality of child care for all children; supporting and elevating the status of child care teachers and providers; raising awareness of the need for affordable, quality child care; and, partnering with business and government in making child care a priority. TLLCCF is a nonprofit, nonsectarian 501(c)(3) organization established in 1987 in memory of Terri Lynne Lokoff, a devoted child care worker.
