Age-appropriate new books offered at below list price to
child care centers, providers and group homes in the six county area
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA, August 25, 2008 – The Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation (TLLCCF) announced that they will hold a book sale for child care centers, providers and group homes in cooperation with the Free Library of Philadelphia (FLP). The age-appropriate books are being offered at a significant discount. The book list was researched and developed by Children’s Materials Specialists Martha Raively and Monica Carnesi of the Free Library of Philadelphia and contains 239 classic, favorite and new children’s books. Child care centers and home providers in Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia are encouraged to order books at the discounted prices. Prices for the books range from $2.96 to $20.96.
Stated Allan Miller, executive director of TLLCCF, “The book sale is a great opportunity for child care directors and teachers to expand their existing collection of book offerings in the classroom, and replace worn out, but much loved classic and favorite books. Most centers and providers have to make their budgets go even further than normal this year. The book sale will allow them to maximize their buying power.”
Some of the most beloved classic books are being offered including “Goodnight Moon” by Margaret Brown, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle, “Olivia”, by Ian Falconer, “Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse” by Kevin Henkes, and many, many more. The books are available in hardback, board, reinforced hardback and big books. The list includes books that have text in English and Spanish and some are easy readers or ready to read.
The book sale is available for parents to order through participating child care centers/providers. The deadline for order forms is October 14, 2008 and books will be delivered to child care centers and providers in early December. Complete information on ordering books is available at www.tllccf.org or by calling 610-992-1140. Click here to download an order form.
